Tongue & groove paneling is also included in our Siding section, but at LS Cedar we carry such a wide variety, it gets its own category. T&G is used extensively in today’s homes, both as exterior siding and interior paneling. It is versatile and easy to use, making it a top choice for new construction and renovation, as well as many other applications, including: soffits, screens, fences, etc.
LS Cedar stocks every size and type of T&G, all kiln-dried and graded to the highest standards in the industry. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility allows us to produce any custom pattern, whether to match existing or meet architect’s specifications.
Most T&G is smooth on one side and resawn on the other, with a beveled edge on the smooth face, making a “vee joint” where the boards meet. We run several sizes of bevels, making ¼” 1/8”, and even smaller vee joints.

Lengths vary, depending upon the size and grade. Generally, clear T&G comes from 3 to 20 feet in one foot increments. Tight Knot is usually from 8 to 20 feet, in 2-foot multiples. There are industry standards for length distribution. Most clear is allowed to have up to fifteen percent 3, 4, & 5 foot combined and twenty percent 6 & 7 foot. Four inch material tends to run shorter than 6 inch, and for 6 inch material the percentages of shorts are sometimes lower. Specified tallies are available and prices vary, depending upon which lengths are supplied. Obviously, if you need lots of longs, it’s going to cost more, as we then “get stuck” with the shorts. When we custom manufacture our clear vertical grain, the raw material we use sometimes gives us more flexibility and we are often able to supply specified lengths more easily than with off-the-shelf products.
